Last Weekend Road Trip

I can't believe I am here. We just got back from a weekend in Swakmpound, a town on the coast of Namibia. Swakmpound is nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and towering sand dunes. It was a perfect last weekend, walking the beach, great conversations, MASH, cooking, and enjoying the company.

Being near the ocean made me homesick for the first time. It is a good thing, because I can not even fathom leaving my students after this week. I just finished reading through the letters they wrote to their future selves, on their dreams, wishes, and what they want to accomplish, these are such great kids! They have such amazing hearts and dreams, for their world, their country, their families, and themselves. This  night of grading was very emotional! I am so lucky to have them as students! I am ready to soak up this last week, and not take one moment for granted!

Spending some quality time with little Kari Jr. ( Bri's new giraffe)

Hey look it is the ocean!

Ladies and Shane. Shane has driven us to school, and the orphanage every day. He also drove us to Swakopmund, he is like our big brother. We love him!

silly?

Great memories with MJ, long walks on the beach and great conversations.

Namibia is about South Africa, West of Botswana, and South of Angola ( This is for you Jenna Ekegren)

I remember the first time I cut an onion too....

Morning walks

Although I am team Aniston, I had to take a picture in front of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's Namibian abode. ( To the right of my head)

Mussels!

I like this door.

All for now
