RUN

On Tuesday our learners participated in the athletic competition held at Independence Stadium. It was a blast!  We had a great day cheering, coaching?, and spending the day with all of our learners. I never knew that track could be so fun. None of our learners wore shoes, they all ran in their bare feet. I would also like everyone to know that in a race across the long length of the grass field I won, but they did give me a five second head start. Still, I am taking it.  I can't believe I only have one week left with these guys. Ah crazy

"Warm-ups"

I am not quite sure what was up with the garden glove, but it looks cool.

Creating their own race

Giving really good tips before the finals race

To be perfectly honest with you our Moses Garoeb team sort of looked like the Bad News Bears. The learners did not have the training or practice like the other teams... but they are way cuter! Eddie on the other hand was our star runner. He is one of my students in the grade 7. Eddie is very sweet, quiet, and smiley, in the classroom. A great kid. These pictures were taken right before the finals race on the 800.

I asked Eddie what he thinks about when he is running ( I always have a question) and he said a diploma. This boy just melts my heart! As I sat there with him waiting in their lines before the race, a white boy from the private school came up to us. He asked Eddie what his time was on the 800, Eddie just shrugged his shoulders, he didn't actually know.. he just runs. The boy turned around and sat back down in the line waiting for their race. These two boys battled it out at the end, but Eddie won the race! SO exciting, so proud. Love this kid.

Praying

Yeah, Eddie is ahead!!!

Everyone love's Eddie!
